Count 1Fleeing a Peace Officer in a Motor VehicleTraffic
Probable Cause
On March 17, 2026, at approximately 11:21 P.M., an officer attempted a traffic stop on a vehicle near the intersection of Pilot Knob Road and Yankee Doodle Road in the City of Eagan, County of Dakota, State of Minnesota after determining that the registered owner’s license was revoked and seeing the vehicle make two turns from the center lane rather than the turn lane. The vehicle, later determined to be driven by JUSTIN ALLEN ACKERMAN [DOB REDACTED] turned into the nearby transit center and began to accelerate away from the officer.
The officer activated his emergency sirens in addition to the emergency lights already activated but ACKERMAN continued to drive around the transit center without stopping. ACKERMAN then drove his vehicle towards a snowbank in the parking lot. The officer was able to see ACKERMAN bail from the vehicle and run off on foot while officers commanded him to stop. ACKERMAN was later located by officers near Interstate 35E and was taken into custody. While being placed under arrest, ACKERMAN made an unsolicited statement that he had active warrants.
ACKERMAN also told officers he dropped his glasses and a plastic baggie while he was running from officers. Officers located a plastic baggie along ACKERMAN’S route, but the baggie was open and due to the snow, officers could not locate its prior contents.
