On April 6, 2026 at approximately 7:15 P.M., Fergus Falls Police Officer Joshua Duenow was on duty and responded to Walmart in Fergus Falls, Otter Tail County, to assist another officer. As he was leaving, he observed a male who he recognized as Taylor Jeffrey-Dennis Steiner, [DOB REDACTED], the Defendant herein, sitting on a bench. Officer Duenow was aware that Defendant had an active warrant for his arrest in Otter Tail County, which he confirmed. Officer Duenow approached Defendant and informed him that he had an active warrant and would be taken into custody.
Officer Duenow placed Defendant under arrest and asked if he had anything on him that would be considered contraband in the jail. Defendant said that he had a knife in his front right pocket, and a baggie of methamphetamine in the coin pocket of his right pant leg, and a pipe in his front left pocket. Officer Duenow searched Defendant and located a baggie containing a crystalline substance consistent with methamphetamine, as well as a glass smoking device and torch, along with other items. The substance field tested positive for methamphetamine and weighed 2.06 grams.
The Defendant was previously convicted of fifth degree possession of a controlled substance in Otter Tail County Court File No. 56-CR-19-2532. PLEASE TAKE NOTICE: Pursuant to Minn.
