On January 31, 2026 in the City of South Saint Paul, Dakota County, SCOTT DOUGLAS HARER [DOB REDACTED] was driving a white Ford F-150 registered in his name. HARER was parked outside of a home where a Dakota County family resided. When two individuals—the adult children of the homeowners—walked out of the house and toward vehicle, HARER shouted “We’re going to shut you down, you Indian [expletive]!” When the children told their parents what happened, their parents left their home to confront HARER. HARER drove away from the parents, and the parents followed in their own vehicle while calling the police.
When HARER stopped at a red light, the parents pulled alongside HARER and asked “What is your problem?” HARER responded “I’m gonna end you” and “I’m gonna eighty-six you.” HARER pulled out a large kitchen knife and waved it around. HARER pointed the knife toward the occupants of the other vehicle and made stabbing gestures. HARER turned his vehicle around so as to face the other vehicle and then drove forward, coming into contact with the vehicle’s front bumper. After a few moments, HARER backed up and left the scene.
Police arrived shortly afterward, located, HARER, and placed him under arrest.
