McDermid, a resident of Sherburne County, reported that Defendant, a Wright County resident, sold the vehicle without her permission, knowledge or assistance. The $11,500 sale occurred in part as a result of McDermid's signature on the title being forged by Defendant. The buyer of the vehicle was a dealership in Coon Rapids and payment was made only to Defendant. As part of the investigation a review of McDermid's signature was done and a comparison to that found on the title transfer documents. The signature in question looked significantly different than the comparison signatures such as on McDermid's driver's license, as well as, other documents in her name.
The signature line shows that it was signed by both Defendant and McDermid on 5/30/2025 at a time when Defendant was prohibited from having contact with McDermid because of the outstanding DANCO. And despite McDermid's insistence that she did not sign. PLEASE TAKE NOTICE: Pursuant to Minn. Stat. 609.49, intentional failure to appear for duly scheduled court appearances may result in additional criminal charges, and in addition to any arrest warrant that may otherwise be issued by the Court.
