On November 27, 2025, Lakeville Police Officers responded to a theft report at Cub Foods in Lakeville, Dakota County, MN. Dispatch advised that two females ran out of the store with a cart full of items. They left in a brown 2003 Ford Taurus sedan (MN/SUU306). An officer located the suspect vehicle traveling westbound on 205th Street. The vehicle appeared to be occupied by two females. The officer activated the emergency lights on his squad marked with ghost graphics. The vehicle did not pull over and the officer also activated his siren.
The officer attempted to pull up alongside the driver’s side and used the airhorn to ensure that the driver could see he was in an emergency vehicle. The suspect vehicle then slowed down, but when the officer got behind it, the vehicle picked up speed. The vehicle made a left turn without a signal and drove through a stop sign without stopping. While driving through a parking lot, the vehicle was confronted by two fully marked Lakeville squads with emergency lights activated. The suspect vehicle increased speed and fled officers into a neighborhood.
The suspect vehicle entered a cul-de-sac where officers attempted a Precision Immobilization Technique (PIT). This cased the vehicle to go off the road. Officers attempted a Tactical Vehicle Intervention (TVI) to block the vehicle in. The vehicle drove through and struck the front of an officer’s squad. The vehicle continued out of the area. Officers unsuccessfully attempted another PIT maneuver. The suspect vehicle ran through another stop sign and turned right onto County Road 70. Officers caught up and successfully applied PIT. Officers completed a TVI to keep the vehicle from getting out.
The pursuit covered about 4 miles total. The driver and passenger were arrested. The driver was identified as Defendant SAVANAH MARIE GRIFFIN [DOB REDACTED]. Defendant had an active warrant for her arrest. In a Mirandized statement, Defendant admitting to being in Cub Foods with her girlfriend and taking items without paying because they didn’t have money to pay for items for Thanksgiving dinner. Defendant admitted to driving the vehicle and admitted to fleeing from officers because she had an active warrant.
The loss to Cub Foods was $280.12. 2 19HA-CR-25-2052 Filed in District Court State of Minnesota 12/1/2025 Defendant is in custody.
