On February 24, 2026, around 9:41am, Blaine Officer Zeman responded to a residence on Fillmore St NE in Blaine, Anoka County, MN, on the report of a male (C. L. G.) who was not breathing and appeared to have died from an overdose. Upon arrival, Officer Zeman observed CLG on his stomach in a basement bedroom. CLG was pale, cold to the touch, and had rigor mortis. He was confirmed to be deceased at the scene. Officer Zeman observed a cut straw on the ground near CLG, a glass vial on the bed with brownish-white crystals, cut white powder on the nightstand, and credit cards with white residue next to the powder.
CLG's brother was present, as well as the brother's son who had called 911. CLG's brother reported that CLG had no medical issues and was a daily methamphetamine and fentanyl user. CLG's brother said the home belonged to their parents and that CLG was living there with them. He said their parents were currently out of town. CLG's phone was found near him, and there was a tablet on the bed, both of which were seized as evidence. Anoka County Sheriff's Office Detective Price arrived on scene to handle the investigation.
In speaking with CLG's family, Detective Price learned that CLG's parents last saw CLG the morning of Saturday, February 21, 2026. CLG was last known to be alive when CLG's brother exchanged text messages with him that same Saturday around 10:30pm, so three days prior. CLG was transported to the Midwest Medical Examiner's Office for an autopsy. The examiner’s report classified the death as an accident and indicates the cause of death is attributed to a mixture of fentanyl, heroin, and methamphetamine toxicity.
On February 26, 2026, Detective Price was informed by CLG's father that additional drugs and paraphernalia were found in the bedroom. CLG’s father turned over a container with a baggie containing a brown, rock-like substance consistent with heroine. Lab testing later confirmed it contained fentanyl, heroin, xylazine, and medetomidine. CLG's father reported that he was aware of a woman who CLG would consistently buy drugs from at [ADDRESS REDACTED] in Moundsview. He was able to give a physical description of the woman, who was later fully identified as MICHELLE RENEE DORAN [DOB REDACTED], Defendant herein.
She matched the description given by CLG's father. A forensic extraction of CLG's phone showed numerous text messages between him and "Michelle” that were clearly related to drug transactions. Defendant's phone number in county records matched the number for "Michelle." On February 17, 2026, at 2:38pm, Defendant and CLG exchanged messages regarding Defendant’s sale and delivery of heroin and methamphetamine to CLG. Detective Price further noted that the numerous messages between Defendant and CLG clearly establish Defendant as the dealer and source of drugs for CLG. There was no evidence of other dealers or drug sources in CLG's phone or that were known by the family.
