On April 9, 2025, at approximately 4:27 PM, officers responded to a bank located on Kenwood Trail in Lakeville, Dakota County, Minnesota, on report of a bomb threat the bank received that afternoon. The manager of the bank informed dispatch that they had received an electronic customer survey, wherein the customer left a comment that they were going to blow up the bank. Upon arrival to the bank, officers located an employee and manager, who were evacuating the building. Officers spoke with the reporting party and manager.
The threat was sent to the bank branch via an electronic “customer follow up ticket.” Within the survey from the customer, the comment section read, “********** terrible. I’m ********** broken. I hope the building blows up. I will blow up the building. Kill everybody and hopefully the cops will kill me.” The ticket details included the customer’s first and last name, the email used, and the customer’s phone number. The customer’s full name included on the ticket details was “Jesse Lepley,” the email associated with the ticket was “[email redacted].” Upon further investigation, the email and phone number listed on the customer survey ticket sent to the bank was associated with JESSE DANIEL LEPLEY [DOB REDACTED]. The customer survey sent to the bank was sent from an IP address associated with LEPLEY’s residence.
Officers attempted to make contact with LEPLEY at his address. LEPLEY was not present at the time, however, a maintenance worker confirmed LEPLEY is the tenant at that address and provided law enforcement with LEPLEY’s known phone number. The phone number provided by the maintenance worker matched the phone number listed on the customer service ticket in which the threat sent to the bank on April 9, 2025, was sent. Officers spoke with LEPLEY over the phone, calling him at the phone number provided by the maintenance man and on the customer service ticket.
LEPLEY stated his primary bank is the bank that received the bomb threat. He admitted his primary email account is [email redacted]. LEPLEY denied involvement in sending any threat to his bank. LEPLEY told officers he lives alone at his address.
