On March 31, 2026, at approximately 4:55 A.M., police conducted a traffic stop near the intersection of Woodbridge and Wayzata Streets in St. Paul, Ramsey County, Minnesota. As the vehicle came to a stop, the passengers on the right side of the vehicle opened their doors and began to exit the vehicle. They were directed to get back into the vehicle, which they did. The driver, STEVEN JOHN JIMENEZ – [DOB REDACTED], was discovered to have a revoked driver’s license and was not wearing his seatbelt.
The right backseat passenger was identified as JAYSON ANDREW SMITH – [DOB REDACTED]. The left backseat passenger initially provided a false name but was eventually identified as ADAM LANE VETTER – [DOB REDACTED]. VETTER was discovered to have active warrants for his arrest. The officer told JIMENEZ that he knew what they found and asked how long he’d been struggling. JIMENEZ responded that he relapsed two days earlier and meth was his drug of choice.
When asked whose meth it was, JIMENEZ shook his head. When asked where he picked up the narcotics, JIMENEZ closed his eyes and did not respond. When asked if he was trying to make some extra money, he said he had a story then went on to say he was “fucked”. The officer said that the bag was closest to him and asked whether someone passed it to him. JIMENEZ said, “No.” JIMENEZ said no one else needed to go to jail. JIMENEZ said, “It was a stupid fucking mistake.” When asked how much he picked it up for, JIMENEZ responded, “We were just supposed to bring it somewhere.” When asked if he was the middle man, JIMENEZ said, “Mhhmm, I’m fucked.” When asked if the drugs were his, JIMENEZ responded, “No, it’s not mine.” When asked if he picked up the narcotics, JIMENEZ said, “Yes.” Presumptive testing on two bags of suspected narcotics recovered from the bag located in front of the JIMENEZ’s seat yielded positive results for methamphetamine with a total net weight of 55.96 grams.
