On December 22, 2025, in Vermillion Township, Dakota County Minnesota, deputies were dispatched to a 911 hangup at a residence. The initial call notes stated that a resident at a group home was on the phone saying that he wanted the police. Staff members then called in and stated that Andrew Lussier [DOB REDACTED] was breaking and throwing things around the house and had hit a staff member with part of a table. Deputies were able to talk to a staff member on the phone who stated that LUSSIER was upset about a court appearance and started breaking furniture and threatened to harm staff.
The staff had locked themselves in an office room for their safety. Deputies arrived on scene and made contact with LUSSIER who stated that he wanted to go to jail. Deputies observed a broken chair, a side table broken to pieces, and damage to the walls. While deputies were talking to LUSSIER, the staff came out of the office and showed deputies the damage he had caused. The damage included the chair, table, wall damage, a broken thermostat cover, a chip in the flooring, a phone broken to pieces, and damage to the store range in the kitchen.
One of the staff members, Victim 1, had been hit in the leg by the top piece of the side table after LUSSIER threw it at her. Victim 1 had a visible bruise on the shin of her left leg. Victim 1 also told police that LUSSIER had threatened her with a piece of the broken cell phone and stated he was going to kill the staff members. LUSSIER was placed under arrest. After LUSSIER was transported to the jail, deputies interviewed the staff and got the following information. LUSSIER had been agitated because of his court appearance and started to break things around the house.
LUSSIER broke the side table and attempted to throw it at Victim 1, Victim 1 moved away and LUSSIER threw the top of the table which hit the front of Victim 1’s leg. LUSSIER broke the home’s phone into pieces after calling 911 and took a metal piece inside of it to use to threaten Victim 1. Staff locked themselves in the office for safety and continued to watch LUSSIER through the peep hole in the door. LUSSIER continued to cause damage to the home and made statements to staff that he wanted to kill them.
The estimated property damage was over $2,000.
