On October 30, 2025, at approximately 1:15 P.M., officers with the Minneapolis Police Department executed a search warrant for CRISTIAN MARTINEZ [DOB REDACTED]. Officers located MARTINEZ at a residence located in Minneapolis, where he was working. Officers detained MARTINEZ. The search warrant also authorized the search of MARTINEZ’s residence located in Eagan, Dakota County, Minnesota (“residence”). In a statement, MARTINEZ stated that any drugs related to him were for his own use. MARTINEZ indicated that a few grams would be in the garage.
Prior to executing the search warrant at the residence, an investigator with Minneapolis Police Department learned that MARTINEZ’s had the residence on his driver’s license. The investigator also noticed a vehicle associated with MARTINEZ parked outside the residence multiple times during surveillance. After detaining MARTINEZ, officers executed the search warrant at the residence. When they entered the residence, officers located an adult male, who answered the door. There were two minors on the main floor.
There were no other individuals located in the residence. Officers searched a basement bedroom, which contained mailings with MARTINEZ’s name. The other adult male had indicated that the bedroom belonged to MARTINEZ. The bedroom also contained U. S. Currency in a box located in the closet. Meanwhile, an officer brought MARTINEZ to the garage and asked him where the drugs were located. MARTINEZ pointed to a container on a shelf. The officer collected the container and opened it. The officer saw a pill bottle.
The officer opened the pill bottle and located a baggie containing a substance. The substance later field tested positive for the presence of cocaine, a Schedule II controlled substance, and weighed approximately 6.7 grams. The officer also located a digital scale and baggies commonly used for drug packaging in the garage.
