On April 2, 2026, at 11:11 P.M. A South Saint Paul Police Officer observed a motor vehicle with an improperly mounted front license plate in the City of South Saint Paul Dakota County Minnesota. He parked near by and waited for the motor vehicle to begin to drive away. When the vehicle drove away, he observed it fail to signal it’s turn at an intersection and fail to come to a complete stop at a stop sign before turning. The officer followed the vehicle and stopped it. The officer approached the vehicle and identified the driver and lone occupant as the defendant, Michelle Lynn Maske.
The defendant told the officer that she did not have a valid driver’s license. The officer ran a check and learned the defendant’s Minnesota driving privileges were cancelled for being Inimical to Public Safety. The defendant requested that the officers turn the engine on her motor vehicle off. When a second officer opened the door to turn the motor vehicle off, she observed a small plastic bag containing a white crystalline substance that she believed was a controlled substance between the driver’s seat and driver’s door.
The officer pointed out the bag to the first officer who collected it as evidence. It was later preliminarily tested, and the test indicated the presence of methamphetamine, and it weighed 4.48 grams. Inside of a purse on the passenger’s seat were additional bags of controlled substances. The contents of each bag was preliminarily tested and the test indicated the presence of methamphetamine, and the weights were 1.46 grams, 1.07 grams,.68 grams, 3.56 grams, 4.72 grams, 2.15 grams, 1.20 grams. The combined net weight of the methamphetamine found in the purse was 14.84 grams of methamphetamine in the purse.
The total combined net weight of the methamphetamine was 19.32 grams. Also, inside of the purse were two bags, the contents of both which tested positive for cocaine and had net weights of.32 grams and.34 grams, for a total net weight of.66 grams of cocaine. Also, inside of the purse were three bags the contents of which each bag tested positive for fentanyl and the net weight of each bag was.11 grams,.20 grams and.58 grams for a combined net weight of.89 grams of fentanyl. After being advised of her Miranda rights the defendant admitted that all the drugs were hers.
