On November 25, 2025, officers with the Burnsville Police Department executed a search warrant for a residence located on the 15000 block of Greenhaven Lane, Burnsville, Dakota County, Minnesota. The target of the search warrant was TYRONE CORTEZ MARTIN [DOB REDACTED]. MARTIN was implicated in a threats of violence complaint provided to law enforcement on November 19, 2025. In that threats of violence investigation, the Victim informed an officer that she had seen MARTIN with an AR-style, a handgun, and ammunition at his residence.
Victim also provided photographs of these firearms. Officers arrested MARTIN earlier in the day in Burnsville for a warrant stemming from the threats of violence. See Court File No. 19HA-CR-25-2016. During a search of MARTIN’s person, officers located, among other things, a cellphone and house keys. A detective had been tracking MARTIN’s cellphone and noticed that the cellphone was pinging from the residence. Officers entered the residence via the front door using the keys found on MARTIN’s person.
There was nobody inside the residence. During a search of the two-bedroom residence, officers noticed one of the rooms being used as an office and the office as a bedroom. An officer located the following three firearms from a closet of the office room: An AR-type rifle inside a long-gun case. A Taurus-brand revolver inside a metal safe. A Taurus-brand.22 caliber pistol inside a metal safe. Officers also recovered firearm accessories from the residence, including magazines, optics, ammunition, and a holster.
Paperwork with MARTIN’s name was also collected. Meanwhile, another officer located suspected controlled substances from a duffle bag located in the bedroom. Specifically, the duffle bag contained (1) suspected marijuana, (2) pills, and (3) two baggies containing a substance (found in an eyeglass case located inside the duffle bag). The substance later field tested positive for the presence of fentanyl, a Schedule II controlled substance, and weighed approximately 3 19HA-CR-25-2043 Filed in District Court State of Minnesota 11/26/2025 5.21 grams.
MARTIN is ineligible to possess firearms because of a felony threats of violence conviction in Minnesota from 2020. See Court File No. 27-CR-19-26420. This conviction has since been reduced to a misdemeanor following MARTIN’s discharge from probation in 2023.
