On March 4, 2026, law enforcement responded to a reported theft at a store in Eagan, Dakota County, Minnesota. The manager reported that a white adult female, wearing a white sweatshirt, and a white male with brown hair, facial hair, wearing a hat, black sweatshirt, and jeans stole approximately five DeWalt batteries and left the store in a white Chevy Tahoe. Surveillance footage shows the two individuals walking to the isle containing DeWalt tools and placing multiple items into the female’s handbag before leaving in a white Tahoe.
The total value of the items taken on March 4, 2026, was $1,276. On April 22, 2026, law enforcement was informed of another theft from the same store in Eagan. The suspect, a white male with facial hair, entered the store, took two power tools, ran out the door without paying for the merchandise, and left in an older model dark pickup truck. Surveillance footage from the store clearly shows the suspect. The items stolen were a Milwaukee M18 Fuel Contact Pipe Threader (serial number M7180244200010) and a Milwaukee M18 Forced Logic Single Channel Strut Shear Kit (serial number N76AD24360066) worth a total of $6,648. On April 24, 2026, there was a hit on the serial numbers of Milwaukee power tools stolen on April 22, 2026. The tools were pawned at the Pawn America store in Fridley on April 23, 2026, for $1,153. Surveillance footage from Pawn America shows the suspect and a blonde female pawning the items.
The female presented her ID when pawning the items but did not provide the male suspect’s name when questioned by law enforcement. A Tri-County Alert was sent out requesting assistance with identifying the male suspect. A crime analyst with the Plymouth PD identified the suspect as DAVID EDWARD JANSEN [DOB REDACTED], Defendant herein. Defendant was identified in a similar case in Plymouth where a theft occurred at the store’s Plymouth location on April 8, 2026, and the stolen items were pawned at the Roseville Pawn America by Defendant the same day.

On May 6, 2026, law enforcement spoke to Defendant on the phone. Defendant admitted stealing the tools from the Eagan store and pawning them.
