On June 3, 2026, Inver Grove Heights Police officers were dispatched to a reported past action domestic assault having occurred at a residence in Dakota County. Officers spoke with the reporting party, “Victim” herein, who stated that her boyfriend, Davion Robert Magee [DOB REDACTED], “Defendant” herein, had punched her multiple times in the face and caused serious injuries. Victim [NAME REDACTED] on May 26, 2026, she was in an argument with Defendant when he became enraged. Victim stated that she believed Defendant had gone outside to smoke a cigarette and cool off, so she went to lay down with her 12-year-old son.
Defendant came into the room and began punching her repeatedly with closed fists. Victim screamed and begged Defendant to stop, but he grabbed her by the hair and dragged her off the bed and onto the floor. Victim stated that Defendant’s uncle heard the assault and brought Defendant downstairs. Victim [NAME REDACTED] had partially blacked out during the assault due to the repeated punches. Defendant attacked Victim [NAME REDACTED] went downstairs, punching her in the face multiple times and breaking her front tooth completely off.
Victim went to the Urgency Room, where she was diagnosed with a concussion, lacerations to her face, and a broken tooth. Officers reviewed photos that Victim [NAME REDACTED] injuries following the assault, which corroborated her statement, and observed her broken tooth while speaking with her. Officers also spoke with Victim’s friend, “Witness” herein, who stated that Victim video called her after the incident and saw that Victim’s mouth was bloody. Witness stated that she advised Victim to go to the hospital after Victim [NAME REDACTED] couldn’t talk or see.
Law enforcement attempted to locate Defendant, but were unsuccessful in doing so. Defendant has a lengthy criminal history involving multiple domestic assault convictions. Defendant has one prior felony domestic assault conviction within the past 10 years. Police conducted a lethality screening with Victim, who indicated that she does not feel safe and believes Defendant is going to assault her again. The State requests a complaint warrant be issued due to the ongoing risk to Victim’s safety and the fact that Defendant’s whereabouts are currently unknown.
