On 4/2/2026 at 1:43 P.M., Wright County Deputy Strandmo responded to a report of a stolen vehicle which occurred at Center Cut Meats, [ADDRESS REDACTED] NE in Albertville, Wright County, Minnesota. Austin Alama stated that he was selling a 1999 Green Saturn SL1 bearing license plate [PLATE REDACTED] that registered to Austin's girlfriend Samantha Nyren. Austin met a woman on Facebook who came to his work (Center Cut Meats) to purchase the vehicle. When the suspect arrived, Austin gave her the keys as he believed she was going to take it on a test drive.
The woman handed Austin “a wad of cash” which turned out to be fake bills. When Austin observed that the bills were counterfeit, he spotted the vehicle at a nearby Marathon gas station, ran towards the car, confronted her and threw the fake bills back at her. The suspect then drove away, headed EB on I94. Austin described the suspect to be a black female in her 40's with straight black hair and yellow teeth wearing a stocking cap, a yellow scarf and a dark colored jacket. Austin stated there was a male with her described to be a black male mid to late 20s wearing zipup sweater with no hood and a gray coat.
Austin provided screen shots of the conversation he had on Facebook with “Tekeeta Douglas” as well as photos of the sale posting on Facebook and a screen shot of the "Tekeeta Douglas" Facebook page. Dep. Strandmo then searched the name Tekeeta Douglas on DVS, and found one search result for Tekeeta Tashawne Douglas, [DOB REDACTED], hereinafter the defendant. Dep. Strandmo compared the photos posted on the Facebook account to her DVS photo and determined that they are the same person. The defendant's DVS registered address is in St. Paul, so the deputy requested dispatch to contact Ramsey County Sheriff's Office to check the area of [ADDRESS REDACTED] E in St Paul for the vehicle.
The vehicle was not located in that area at that time. At 3:48 P.M., Dep. Merten met with Nyren and provided her with a stolen vehicle form which she signed. On 4/3/2026, at approximately 1:55 A.M., Deputy Brinkhaus was informed that the stolen vehicle had been located by the Saint Paul Police Department. He spoke to Ramsey County dispatch who informed him that an arrest had been made and the defendant was identified. Supplemental reports indicated that the vehicle was located in St. Paul and the driver at the time of the stop was positively identified to be the defendant.
Det. Adams reviewed St. Paul PD’s report, which indicated that after being Mirandized, the defendant stated that she had just purchased the vehicle from a person named Austin in Albertville, MN and paid $550 for the vehicle. The vehicle was towed to the Saint Paul Impound lot.
