In April 2025, investigators with the Eagan Police Department were made aware of a string of thefts to multiple stores owned by a single parent company. Multiple individuals were involved in the theft, with one such individual being known as “Suspect A” throughout the store’s internal investigation. Suspect A can be seen on surveillance cameras entering the stores, selecting large amounts of merchandise, and then exiting the stores carrying the merchandise without having paid for the merchandise.
Investigators were able to use booking photos and a tri-county alert to positively identify Suspect A as Daniel Solis Baranda, [DOB REDACTED], hereinafter Defendant. Investigators were able to identify Defendant in nine separate incidents from January through March 2025. On January 17, 2025, Defendant was positively identified shoplifting $404.76 worth of merchandise from TJ Maxx in Brooklyn Center, Hennepin County, Minnesota. On January 30, 2025, Defendant was positively identified stealing $466.82 worth of merchandise from Marshalls in Bloomington, Hennepin County, Minnesota.
On February 3, 2025, Defendant was positively identified shoplifting $438.82 worth of merchandise from Marshalls in Eagan, Dakota County, Minnesota. On February 9, 2025, Defendant was positively identified shoplifting $400.83 worth of merchandise from Marshalls in Bloomington, Hennepin County, Minnesota. On February 25, 2025, Defendant was positively identified shoplifting $518.74 worth of merchandise from Marshalls in Eagan, Dakota County, Minnesota. On March 3, 2025, Defendant was positively identified shoplifting $439.86 worth of merchandise from Marshalls in Bloomington, Hennepin County, Minnesota.
On March 8, 2025, Defendant was positively identified shoplifting $302.80 worth of merchandise from TJ Maxx in Eagan, Dakota County, Minnesota. On March 10, 2025, Defendant was positively identified shoplifting $704.69 worth of merchandise from Marshalls in Savage, Scott County, Minnesota. On March 22, 2025, Defendant was positively identified shoplifting $370.81 worth of merchandise from TJ Maxx in Eagan, Dakota County, Minnesota. Defendant stole a total of $4,048.13 worth of merchandise from the stores without paying.
Investigators attempted to locate contact information for Defendant in order to obtain a statement from him regarding the incidents but were unable to locate any current contact information. Defendant’s criminal history includes multiple theft convictions.
