At around 12:30 AM on April 25, 2026, officers were sent to [ADDRESS REDACTED], St. Paul, Ramsey County on a domestic. The 911 caller said her child’s father was intoxicated and refusing to leave. The 911 caller said, “Don’t grab my…” and the call disconnected. Officers made contact with MHC [DOB REDACTED] who was extremely scared. MHC had a small amount of dried blood on her lower lip and a scratch on her forearm. MHC said she had been in an on-and-off relationship for the past 3 years with KEVIONTEA DEANIQUE MCINNIS [DOB REDACTED], and she is pregnant with his child.
MHC said she had been arguing with McInnis for the past few days after he lost his job. McInnis came over and they argued in MHC’s car. MHC left the car, entered her home, and locked the door behind her. McInnis banged on the door. MHC opened the door, and McInnis overpowered MHC forcing his way inside. MHC called 911 and McInnis left. McInnis then returned and forced his way inside again where he grabbed and shook MHC. MHC fell onto her back after McInnis shoved her. McInnis snatched MHC’s cell phone and threw it against the sink.
MHC ran to her mother’s room and used her mother’s cell phone to call 911 again. McInnis said, “Stop calling the police on me. If you call the police again, I’m going to kill myself. I’m going to grab your gun.” McInnis ran to the basement, grabbed MHC’s gun, and pointed it at his own head. MHC left the house. Officers arrested McInnis when he exited the house. McInnis was advised of his constitutional rights and agreed to speak to police. McInnis said he and MHC argued about his infidelity. He said he had lost his job and planned on moving to St. Louis.
McInnis said he had been drinking and planned on sleeping in his car in the driveway. MHC asked McInnis to leave her property. They argued, and the argument continued inside the house. McInnis knew where MHC kept her firearm, and he grabbed it because he claimed she had waved it at him in the past. McInnis claimed he wanted to put the gun in her closet, so it was out of MHC’s reach, but he and MHC “tussled” over the handgun. McInnis slipped and hit his lip on a nearby table. Police then showed up.
Officers recovered MHC’s Kimber Micro 9mm handgun from the home. The chamber was empty, but its magazine contained ammunition.
