Chief Hodges discusses arrest of Law Enforcement Officer || Don't Drink and Drive.

Bloomington chief I just here I'm gonna talk about something today that you don't see every day and I feel fortunate that we don't see this every day, but when we do see this It doesn't matter who you are if you do this We will lock you up in Bloomington. So around midnight Earlier today we got a call of an individual Speeding driving excessive amount of speed down the street They crashed their car on the 9400 block of lendil Now when our officer arrived I'm gonna play this video and this is what They ended up doing Now as you look at this video it may look rather peculiar You see two people dressed in uniform Yes, both of them are police officers One is our police officer who is arresting another police officer who was in full uniform duty-built badge gun whole nine yards Again driving fast crash their car our officer noticed this person This other officer smells of alcohol on On the road they give them the PBT they ended up the preliminary breath test Which is the breath side road test we do came back almost three times illegal limit We got them back to the station and went through the formal testing They came out at a point to eight Point to eight the legal limit and Minnesota is point Oh wait, so if you do the math that is three times the legal limit Full duty duty uniform So the officer here had got off work At 11 o'clock working at the state fair Off-duty gig and we got them around midnight So in hour after they were working they were to this level of intoxication The officer had a uniform on they are a police officer a part-time officer with the Chetfield police department here in Minnesota This is really unfortunate and again this scene here is something that Thank God we don't see all the time but make no mistake about it. I don't care who you are You come to our city you break the law We're gonna lock you up. I am just glad that no member of the public was hurt here And is really unfortunate the position That our officers were put in here our officers here our core value here the Bloomington police department Is respect and we respect our community we respect the law And it doesn't matter who you are and I think we've shown that here in Bloomington you break the law here.
