Hey, Blomington, can you imagine your first responders having real-time information prior to even when they arrive on scene? Begin the week of May 18th, the C-A Blomington will begin a two-week testing demonstration period, evaluating drones as first responder technology, also known as DFR. DFR programs use remotely-operated drones to respond to certain emergency calls ahead of police, fire, or other first responders, providing live situational awareness that may improve response coordination, responder safety, and operational efficiency. This technology has the potential to assist with emergency incident assessment, traffic crash response, missing person searches, hazardous situation evaluation, and large event monitoring.
