On October 9, 2025, at approximately 6:00 P.M., Crystal Police were dispatched to a theft report at Golden Valley Greenway Apartments located at [ADDRESS REDACTED] North in Crystal, Hennepin County. An officer called the victim [NAME REDACTED] who reported her FedEx package was delivered but was now missing. B. R. Had received a photograph of the confirmed delivery in the apartment vestibule for the package, a $70 Taylor Swift cardigan. On October 24, 2025, police were able to speak with an employee of the leasing office who forwarded surveillance video of the incident.
The video showed on 10/09/2025 at 2:07 P.M., a male suspect entered the foyer, looked around, and then grabbed the victim's package and another package from the mail depository. The suspect then exits and puts the packages into a vehicle, before getting into the vehicle and driving away. The officer took several screenshots of the suspect and provided a description to CPD Crime Analysts to attempt to identify the individual. On November 4, 2025, the CPD Crime Analyst identified several other mail theft incidents committed by the same suspect at the same apartment complex and forwarded the information to the officer.
The Analyst advised in one the videos the suspect entered the complex with an individual identified to live at the complex. The Analyst was able to identify the suspect as QUENTELL LAMONT POWELL [DOB REDACTED], Defendant herein. Defendant's history shows he has been stopped multiple times in a white Dodge Avenger (MN TEH808), which matches the suspect's vehicle description from this incident. Defendant is also wearing the same clothing as the suspect from the video footage. Police conducted additional investigation regarding Defendant's criminal history and issued a KOPS alert for Defendant and the vehicle.
On November 6, 2025, St. Louis Park Police located Defendant and the vehicle. Police obtained a search warrant for the vehicle and during the execution they located three ThelceBoy t-shirts reported stolen in a different incident as well as a 10" Subwoofer system reported stolen. Police compared the items with the photographs of the ordered items that had been taken and confirmed they were a direct match. Police later spoke with Defendant and in a post Miranda interview, Defendant admitted to stealing packages from the apartment complex.
Defendant told police he took the packages and put them in his vehicle, and the merchandise would be in the trunk. At present, Defendant is in custody.
