On January 11, 2026, at approximately 1:38 pm, Saint Cloud Police were working an unrelated special detail in the area of the St Cloud Library when dispatch advised of an alleged assault that was determined to have happened in the area of 14th Avenue and Highway 23 in the City of Saint Cloud, County of Stearns. Dispatch advised a female, later identified as Nina Victoria Hetzler [DOB REDACTED], Defendant herein, had possibly been pushed or jumped out of a vehicle, and the vehicle was currently parked on 14th Avenue.
Officer Cole Orvis made contact with the sole occupant of that vehicle, identified as M. M. M. M. And Defendant are family/household members. When Officer Orvis made contact with M. M., he observed injuries to M. M.s mouth and nose area, including partially dried blood, and M. M. Appeared to be very worked up and upset. M. M. Told Officer Orvis that Defendant had kept him up the previous night and was in a bad mood when they woke up that morning, accusing him of infidelity and mentioning she wanted to go home.
M. M. Attempted to calm Defendant down and said he would get her home after he got some sleep. Defendant eventually wanted to go the liquor store, and when M. M. Was attempting to bring Defendant back to his place to get her belongings so he could bring her home, Defendant started to kick him in the face, causing the facial injuries observed by Officer Orvis. M. M. Also showed Officer Orvis scratch marks on his hand and stomach, reportedly caused by Defendant. When they were in the area of 14th Avenue and Highway 23, Defendant was screaming out the window for helP.M. M. Told Defendant he would take her to the police department if she wanted, after which Defendant jumped out of the vehicle and started running toward a crowd of people that were in the area.
Sergeant Brian Cameron, who also responded to the scene, was flagged down by a group of people and located Defendant sitting on the ground. Officer Cameron was able to identify the Defendant and attempting to assist Defendant, who was emotional and not responding to questions. An ambulance had been dispatched based on the nature of the call, and Officer Cameron was eventually able to get Defendant to the ambulance. The only information he was able to get from Defendant was that M. M. Had wanted her to drive and she did not want to drive.
Based on his observations, Officer Cameron did believe Defendant may be under the influence. Defendant was placed under arrest and transported to the hospital for evaluation before being taken to the jail. Officer Cameron was able to speak with a witness, [NAME REDACTED], who saw Defendant get out of the passenger seat of M. M.'s vehicle at the stop light and start running towards the crowd. J. N. Advised he did not witness any assault one way or the other and could not tell whether Defendant got out of the vehicle on her own or was pushed.
