Your complainant is Medina Police Investigator Jordan Myhre. In that capacity, your complainant has read the police reports of Medina Police Officer Chris McGill and believes the following to be true: On October 27, 2025, Officer McGill spoke with B. W. B., an employee of Highway 55 Rental located at [ADDRESS REDACTED] 55 in the City of Medina, County of Hennepin, State of Minnesota. B. W. B. Reported that on September 16, 2025, Jessy James Berger, [DOB REDACTED], hereinafter Defendant, rented an extension ladder from Highway 55 Rental.
Mr. Berger signed a rental contract which stated the extension ladder was to be returned to Highway 55 Rental on September 17, 2025. Defendant failed to return the extension ladder. Accordingly, on September 20, 2025, B. W. B. Tried to charge Defendant’s credit card with the rental amount and late fees. The credit card was declined. B. W. B. Tried to call Defendant but did not get an answer and he was unable to leave a voicemail message for Defendant. B. W. B. Sent Defendant a text message on September 22, 2025. Defendant responded that he received the text message and that he would return the ladder on September 23, 2025. B. W. B. Reported that Defendant returned the ladder to Highway 55 Rental after hours on September 25, 2025. Defendant did not contact Highway 55 regarding the return of the ladder or the outstanding balance.
On September 29, 2025, B. W. B. Sent Defendant a letter by certified mail regarding the outstanding balance of $256.94. The certified letter was returned to Highway 55 Rental on October 4, 2025, noted “Return to sender. Unable to forward.” Officer McGill attempted to call Defendant at the telephone number provided by B. W. B. The call went to a voicemail box that was full and Officer McGill was unable to leave a message.
