On November 14, 2025, at 9:25 P.M. Deputy Gerads responded to a report from an identified caller about a speeding vehicle that almost caused a crash. The caller described the vehicle being at Hiway Liquors at [ADDRESS REDACTED] in Monticello, Wright County, Minnesota. Deputy Gerads located the vehicle parked in the parking lot. Deputy Gerads observed a male exit the liquor store and place a bag in the rear passenger seat of the vehicle. Deputy Gerads approached the male and informed him of the driving complaint.
Deputy Gerads saw indicia of alcohol intoxication while interacting with the male in that his eyes were bloodshot and watery, and an odor of an alcoholic beverage was coming from him. The male refused multiple requests to identify himself. Deputy Gerads was eventually able to identify the male as Jordan Lee Wrona, [DOB REDACTED], defendant Wrona herein. Deputy Gerads noted defendant Wrona’s driver’s license status was canceled as inimical to public safety. Deputy Gerads also noted defendant Wrona was required to have ignition interlock and was subject to a no use of drugs or alcohol restriction.
Deputy Gerads confirmed defendant Wrona had a body only warrant from Scott County for a first degree DWI. Deputy Gerads arrested defendant Wrona. A search of defendant Wrona’s person resulted in the recovery of a THC vape pen in his pants pocket. Defendant Wrona began yelling at the vehicle’s female passenger, Mia Danielle Pomeroy, [DOB REDACTED], defendant Pomeroy herein, to leave in the vehicle. Defendant Pomeroy got into the driver’s seat of the vehicle and was trying to leave. Deputy Gerads approached the vehicle and observed a Sig Sauer 1911 handgun in the driver door.
Deputy Gerads noticed the vehicle was not equipped with ignition interlock. Deputy Gerads commanded defendant Pomeroy to exit the vehicle, but she refused. Deputy Gerads had to grab defendant Pomeroy’s arm and remove her from the vehicle. During his interaction with defendant Wrona, Deputy Gerads developed probable cause to believe defendant Wrona was driving while under the influence of alcohol. Deputy Wrona read the Minnesota Breath Test Advisory to defendant Wrona. Defendant Wrona used telephone time to consult with an attorney.
Deputy Gerads asked defendant Wrona approximately 18 times if he would provide a breath sample. Defendant Wrona refused to answer. Deputy Wrona considered defendant Wrona’s refusal to answer to constitute a test refusal. Deputy Gerads also read the carry a firearm under the influence advisory to defendant Wrona. Defendant Wrona also refused to answer questions. Court records show defendant Wrona has a prior felony DWI conviction from 2021 (••-CR-••-••••) and DWI convictions from 2018 (••-CR-••-••••) and 2016 (••-CR-••-••••). Neither defendant Wrona nor defendant Pomeroy had a permit to carry a firearm.
