At around 10:20 PM on January 7, 2026, officers were sent to Canary Hills Apartments at [ADDRESS REDACTED], Maplewood, Ramsey County on a shooting. An arriving officer saw a black Dodge Durango leaving the scene heading north on Century Avenue. Witnesses told that the Durango was involved in the shooting. Officers stopped the Durango and arrested its driver, TONY TERRELL JACKSON, Jr. [DOB REDACTED]. Jackson had an odor of alcohol coming from his breath. Officers found a handgun magazine in the Durango that contained.45 caliber ammunition.
Jackson agreed to speak to police after being advised of his constitutional rights. Jackson said he and his fiancée, CB [DOB REDACTED], argued over child discipline issues regarding their son, TTJ. Jackson said CB and he had been drinking. CB left their address in one Durango, and he left in another Durango. Jackson happened upon CB at a Holiday. They drove around and Jackson claimed CB played chicken by driving close to him as if she were trying to ram him. No contact was made between the Durangos.
Jackson got angry and said CB was pushing his buttons. They returned to the Hawthorne address. Jackson got his firearm from the glovebox and fired it twice at the rear driver’s side passenger door. Jackson said he fired out of frustration and did not intend to hit CB. CB had an injury to her neck that Jackson thought came from broken glass from his gunshots. Jackson apologized and officered to fix the window. CB told Jackson to leave, and he did. Jackson said he threw the Smith and Wesson.45 caliber handgun out the passenger window near some apartments.
Jackson provided a preliminary breath test sample that registered an alcohol concentration of 0.055. Officers obtained a search warrant and collected a blood sample from Jackson. The blood sample will be submitted to the Minnesota Bureau of Criminal Apprehension for analysis. Officers spoke to neighbors who heard arguing outside and a series of pops. One neighbor said Jackson and CB have a lot of arguments. Officers recovered three.45 caliber casings from the intersection of Century Avenue and Hawthorne Avenue, Maplewood, Ramsey County.
TTJ told police Jackson and CB had been arguing all day. CB left in her vehicle, and Jackson left in a separate vehicle. Both vehicles returned to the scene. Jackson yelled at CB as she sat in her vehicle. TTJ heard 2 loud pops that he described as “pew pew” and possibly gunshots. TTJ said Jackson owns a black handgun. TTJ heard Jackson apologize to CB after the loud pops. TTJ saw a police car drive in front of the house. Jackson then drove from the scene. CB was bleeding from the back of her neck when she spoke to police.
CB said she and Jackson argued about their kids. Jackson left and returned. They argued again, and CB asked Jackson to leave again, but he refused. CB said she would leave. Jackson told CB she wasn’t allowed to leave since both vehicles belonged to him. CB snuck a set of keys from her lanyard and drove off in one of the vehicles. Jackson followed in another vehicle and tried stopping CB. CB returned home. She heard a loud pop and felt pain in her neck. Jackson parked next to CB and got out. Jackson repeatedly told CB he was going to take her to the hospital, but CB told Jackson to leave.
