On or about October 27, 2025, at approximately 8:55 PM, officers of the Robbinsdale Police Department entered the parking lot of Cub Foods, 5301 36th Ave N, Robbinsdale, Hennepin County, Minnesota, and noticed a vehicle in the lot with an occupant standing outside, throwing things into the vehicle haphazardly. Officers noted Cub Foods staff watching the vehicle and person as well. Officers attempted contact with the person outside the vehicle, who then fled on foot. Officers then detained the driver of the vehicle, who was identified as TERRY LEE MCMORRIS, [DOB REDACTED], the Defendant herein.
Routine checks conducted on Defendant revealed a driving status of cancelled. The vehicle was then searched, resulting in the location of $889.40 worth of stolen merchandise, confirmed by Cub Foods employees. Surveillance video revealed Defendant and another suspect enter the store and collect items in a shopping cart. Defendant then leaves the store. The other suspect appears to get ready to exit through emergency doors and Defendant's vehicle is seen on the same side of the building as the emergency exit.
Based on the footage, the reviewing officer concludes the male and female parties were working together to shoplift, as it appears Defendant knew the other suspect would exit out of the emergency doors.
