On March 6, 2025, approximately around 1:25 P.M., Minneapolis Police Department Officers were conducting patrol in the area of Chicago Avenue and Elliot Avenue in Minneapolis, Hennepin County. Officers observed a male suspect and another male individual standing in an alley way. Officers observed the male suspect reach inside of his jacket pocket and hand the other male suspected narcotics. The other male then walked away. Based on the officers' training and experience, the officer suspected the male suspect to be engaged in the sale of narcotics.
Officers exited their squad cars and approached the male suspect. Upon seeing officers, the male suspect immediately fled on foot. Officers observed the male suspect crouch down and stash an item. Officers placed the male suspect under arrest. Officers later identified the male suspect as DAVION DANDRE KENSEY [DOB REDACTED] "Defendant" herein. Officers searched the Defendant and located $85.00 in cash along with a digital scale on Defendant's person. Officers were also able to immediately retrieve the item that was stashed by the Defendant.
Officers observed the item stashed by the Defendant was a baggie containing suspected narcotics. Defendant was transported to the Hennepin County Jail. During a secondary search at the Jail, Jail staff located $790.00 in cash on Defendant's person. Officers later field tested the contents inside of the baggie. The contents of the baggie field tested positive for 12.6 grams of cocaine. At present, Defendant is in custody.
