On April 7, 2026, multiple St. Paul Police officers radioed that they heard several gunshots in the area of Rice and Lichtfield Streets in St. Paul, Ramsey County, Minnesota. When officers arrived on scene, a male, DDC, came out of one of the residences and told police that he was shot at. Police observed several shell casings in the middle of the road. DDC told police that he has had issues with some males for a long time. Earlier that day, DDC reported that he went to the liquor store with his friend.
At the liquor store, he saw one of the males he recognized from past conflicts exit the store. DDC said they looked at each other but did not say anything. DDC stated that he felt like they needed to leave the store, so they went to his cousin’s house on Litchfield Street to wait for DDC’s child’s mother to pick him up. As he sat in the car with his friend, DDC said a vehicle pulled alongside theirs, and a male he knew from a prior physical altercation was in the front passenger seat. DDC reported that when he saw the male, who he knew as “Teno”, in the vehicle, he immediately got out of his friend’s vehicle because he knew shots were about to be fired, and he did not want to be seated in the vehicle.
DDC ducked next to the vehicle, fearing he would be shot if he tried to run, and reported that “Teno” shot at the vehicle approximately five or six times then another couple of times at the ground before getting back in the vehicle, which drove away. DDC told his friend to leave. DDC reported that he contacted him, and his friend advised that he was okay but did not want to speak with police about the incident. When asked what led up to the conflicts, DDC said that he used to buy marijuana from “Teno” at [ADDRESS REDACTED] but stopped due to a change in prices, and they stopped associating.
DDC reported that he started buying marijuana from another male at [ADDRESS REDACTED], but “Teno” told that male to stop selling to DDC and told DDC that he was not allowed at [ADDRESS REDACTED] anymore. DDC said he refused to stay away and eventually got into a physical fight with “Teno”. Following the fight, DDC reported that “Teno” continued to harass DDC and send him threatening messages on Facebook. Around Halloween, DDC said that he saw the male he saw outside the liquor store earlier that day at a BP gas station, and the male blocked in DDC’s car.
DDC stated that he pulled out his firearm and told the male that he would shoot anyone if the approached him, and the male left. DDC told police that the male calls other people every time he sees him. In a follow-up statement, DDC said “Teno” and his crew call themselves “the fours”, referring to [ADDRESS REDACTED]. DDC reported that he did not leave his house much after the incident at the gas station. After several months, DDC reached out to “Teno’s” brother saying he wanted to clear the air. “Teno’s” brother said he would talk to “Teno” and try to calm things down.
