Your Complainant is a Detective with the City of Edina Police Department, and based on the files, records, and reports of said Department, your Complainant alleges the following: On January 30, 2024, at approximately 4:10 P.M., Edina Police Officer Christensen responded to [home number and street name withheld] Avenue South, in the City of Edina, County of Hennepin, State of Minnesota, on the report of harassing communications. Officer Christensen met with an individual, identified herein as PN, who informed Officer Christensen that approximately three months prior he sold his condo to an individual, later identified as Daniella Marie Chavez, [DOB REDACTED], the Defendant herein.
PN stated the Defendant shortened the date to close the transaction and waived the inspection for the sale. PN stated after the sale there was an issue with the main water to the building, which primarily involved a hallway in the building, but had apparently caused damage to the condo unit. PN was of the belief the Condo Association was responsible for damages due to the damage location and that the Defendant would not be responsible. PN stated the Defendant spoke with her relator who, in turn, spoke with PN’s realtor.
Throughout the communication amongst the realtors, the realtors informed the Defendant she would be responsible for any damages. PN stated that on or about January 28, 2024, the Defendant somehow got his phone number and began directly contacting him and his wife, identified herein as RG. PN stated he is unaware of how the Defendant obtained his and his wife’s contact information. PN stated on January 28, 2024, the Defendant text messaged RG stating “is this [RG], previous owner of [ADDRESS REDACTED] e 203 in Bloomington?” PN stated RG blocked the phone number on her cellular telephone.
PN stated on January 28, 2024, he had calls from an unknown number at 11:31 p.m, 11:32 P.M., 11:34 P.M., and 11:36 P.M. PN answered the call that arrived at 11:32 P.M. And stated he heard a voice he identified as the Defendant. PN stated he felt very uneasy about the calls and was concerned the Defendant would find their home address and show up in person. PN stated he spoke with his realtor who, in turn, stated that realtor would contact the Defendant’s realtor and hoped that individual could calm the situation.
On February 2, 2024, Officer Christensen returned to speak with PN and RG. RG logged into her computer, which received additional messages from the Defendant, even after blocking the Defendant on her cellular telephone (it should be noted when a number is blocked on an iPhone cellular telephone, an iMessage will still be delivered onto iCloud and be viewed from other devices). Officer Christensen observed the message was delivered on January 29, 2024, at 10:47 P.M. The message read “You f****** clowns that commit fraud.
