On September 13, 2025, officers with the Blaine Police Department were dispatched to a report of a burglary of a detached garage located on the 11700 block of 3rd St. NE, city of Blaine, county of Anoka. Officers spoke with T. I. H. And T. G. K, "Victims" herein, who stated they were the owners of the detached garage. Victims stated that unknown individuals had entered the garage earlier that morning and stolen several items from inside. Law enforcement reviewed surveillance video of the garage and saw a male, later identified as JOSHUA JAY HENRY [DOB REDACTED], "Defendant" herein, and a female, later identified as ASHLEY LOUISE MILLER [DOB REDACTED], "Co-Defendant" herein, pull up to the garage in a red 2012 Jeep Grand Cherokee bearing MN Plate # BSK 664. Defendant and Co-Defendant enter the garage, take several items and load them into their vehicle before driving away.
Victims reported that the garage has an automatic door opener and that they believed something caused the door to re-open after their last departure, allowing Defendant and Co-Defendant to enter the garage. Victims reported a list of stolen items which included 3 metal briefcases containing lighting equipment valued at $2,000, a pizza oven, a Robot vacuum cleaner, a DeWalt battery fan, a battery jump pack, a power inverter, 2 8-packs of Gatorade, and a pillow insert. The total value of the stolen items was reported to be $2,536.00. Law enforcement located the suspect vehicle outside a residence on Jefferson St. NE in Blaine.
In reviewing records associated with that address, law enforcement confirmed the identifies of Defendant and Co-Defendant by comparing their MRAP photos to the surveillance video. Law enforcement later stopped the suspect vehicle as it departed the residence and confirmed that Defendant was the driver and Co-Defendant the front seat passenger. A search was conducted of the vehicle for items taken during the burglary. While searching the passenger compartment, police found a makeshift narcotics pipe made from a Gatorade bottle and a bubble pipe, containing a white residue suspected to be methamphetamine.
A small plastic ziploc baggie containing a white crystal substance was found inside the glove box. The substance field tested positive for 1.22 grams of methamphetamine. Officers spoke with Defendant who in a post-Miranda statement indicated that he and Co-Defendant stole multiple items from an open garage stall. He stated that Co-Defendant possibly sold some of the items while he was sleeping and that he would turn over any items still in his possession. Defendant stated the methamphetamine in the car was his.
Officers also spoke with Co-Defendant who stated that she had served as a lookout and maybe had stepped inside the garage. Co-Defendant stated that she brought the pizza oven, the Robot vacuum and the small fan to We Pay More Pawn on University Ave NE and sold them for an unknown amount of money. Co-Defendant initially stated the methamphetamine was hers but after learning that Defendant claimed ownership, stated that it was Defendant's. Defendant and Co-Defendant were ultimately transported back to their residence where they gave officers three silver cases containing lighting equipment, a large fan and a battery jump pack.
