The following is based on your complainant’s review of the reports of other officers and your complainant’s own investigation: On November 23, 2025, at about 5:15am, a White Bear Lake Police officer was passed on southbound Highway 61 by a Dodge Ram truck traveling at high speed – more than 30 mph over the limit – and swerving over lane lines. The officer activated his emergency lights and siren at County Rd. F and Highway 61, White Bear Lake, Ramsey County. Instead of stopping, the truck made a U-turn and fled at high speed northbound.
It passed County Rd. J before the officer lost sight of it. The truck was found to have been stolen in a burglary just hours earlier in Forest Lake. About 20 minutes after the encounter with White Bear police, a Forest Lake Police officer observed the truck, still traveling about 20 mph over the limit, at an intersection about 14 miles northeast of where the White Bear officer had last seen it. As the Forest Lake officer turned to follow, the truck drove through a stop sign and accelerated even more.
During the resulting 18-mile pursuit, the truck drove dangerously, reached speeds of more than 100 mph. Eventually the truck hit stop sticks that had been placed by law enforcement. It lost control off of a highway ramp, went through a fence, and came to a stop on a dirt road in Forest Lake, where the driver fled on foot. As officers searched the area, a man matching the driver’s description briefly stole another vehicle but was blocked by the owner’s driveway gate. The driver was eventually found hiding inside of a resident’s vehicle.
He was identified as the defendant, NATHANIEL MICHAEL EUGENE CLARK ([DOB REDACTED]). He was found to have attempted to steal yet another vehicle that night. In a Mirandized interview, the defendant admitted to having been the driver of the truck, including when it fled from White Bear Police. He blamed addiction for his crimes and said that he had fled in order to avoid arrest. The defendant faces pending charges of Burglary in the First Degree, Fleeing in a Motor Vehicle, and Theft of Motor Vehicle (3 counts) for his conduct in Forest Lake (Case No. 82-CR-25-5059). His criminal record includes prior felony convictions for Receiving Stolen Property, Theft of Motor Vehicle, Fleeing in a Motor Vehicle, and Burglary in the Third Degree.
He is currently in custody in Washington County.
