M., Becker Officer David Ryberg responded to a report of a fight at the Grandstay Hotel, located at [ADDRESS REDACTED] in the city of Becker, Sherburne County, Minnesota. Upon arrival, Officer Rydberg spoke with three parties who pointed at a male sitting on the curb as a person who threatened them with a knife. The male was later identified as Robert Henry Williamson, [DOB REDACTED], hereinafter referred to as the defendant. The defendant was holding a leash of a large dog that appeared to be a pitbull.
The witnesses, J. J. S., Jr. Stated that he and his family were checking out of the Grandstay hotel and the defendant approached them and angrily pulled out a knife and started coming toward them. J. J. S., Jr said that the dog bit him and he and S. G. Kicked the dog to get it away. The defendant then stood and walked westbound into the Grandstay parking lot. Officer Rydberg told the defendant to stop. The defendant kept walking away. Officer Rydberg told the defendant he was under arrest for assault.
The defendant turned toward Officer Rydberg, pulled out a three inch knife and held it to his throat. The defendant threatened to kill himself or have law enforcement shoot him. The defendant told Officer Rydberg that his dog was a service dog and would attack Officer Rydberg. He continued to hold the knife at his own neck. He said that a person at the Grandstay hotel was taking pictures and that triggered him. He felt that J. J. S. Jr. Was looking at him and he yelled at J. J. S. Jr. The defendant referred to J. J. S. Jr. By using racial slurs and said several times that there would not be a peaceful end to this.
The defendant stated that he planned to firebomb the Becker Police Department after he got out of jail because he never forgets. Several officers joined to assist. The defendant pulled his pants down, turned around and put the knife back to his throat. He pulled out multiple pills and put them in his mouth. He spit them out about twenty minutes later. Sherburne County Captain Ryan Broich attempted to speak with the defendant. The defendant turned his back to Captain Broich, pulled his pants down, deficated and said, "that's for you." The defendant then started walking toward Bank Street, still with the knife in his hand, walking toward Deputy Cole Petroske.
The defendant was ordered to stop walking by deputies and was warned that he would be tased. The defendant was then tased. The defendant was taken into custody and transported to Mercy Hospital.
