At approximately 12:30 PM on November 27, 2025, the Carver County Sheriff’s Office responded to a 911 hangup occurring at an apartment at [ADDRESS REDACTED] in the City of Carver, Carver County. Dispatch advised that neighbors had called in indicating they heard screaming and that another party had called saying there was an assault involving a knife. Deputy Wehner arrived and spoke with Kamiya Lariah Oliver [DOB REDACTED], hereinafter Defendant, in the hallway. Defendant indicated she had gotten into a verbal argument with her boyfriend, D. W., and that she was trying to kick D. W. Out of the apartment.
Defendant stated that D. W. Got physical with her, and that her mother, B. L., was taking D. W.’s side in the argument. Deputy Wehner spoke with B. L., who stated that she had observed D. W. And Defendant in an argument and that Defendant was striking D. W. And pulling his hair while D. W. Was trying to leave. D. W. Eventually exited the apartment and B. L. Stated she then locked the apartment and stood in front of the door to keep Defendant from following D. W. B. L. Stated Defendant walked over to the kitchen and grabbed a knife and told B. L. “If you don’t let me go after him, I’ll cut you.” B. L. Then went to her bedroom and locked the door until Defendant left the apartment, at which point she locked the apartment door.
Defendant admitted to brandishing a knife toward B. L., but claimed she was doing it in self-defense. PLEASE TAKE NOTICE: Pursuant to Minn.
