A photo of the suspected vehicle was sent to investigators, and the damage pictured was consistent with the damage that would have been caused to the suspect vehicle the night of the incident. The vehicle was also similar in color to the suspect vehicle, the driver's side headlight was damaged, and the lens cover was missing. The hood appeared to have damage on the driver’s side and the driver's side mirror was missing. Police ran the license plate and the vehicle came back as a 2005 Infiniti G35 Sedan, registered to an owner living in St. Paul.
The vehicle was towed to the Minneapolis Police Forensic Garage where it was processed for potential evidence. Swabs of apparent blood were collected from the exterior of the vehicle and white fabric fibers consistent with the Victim's dress were removed from the damaged exterior and preserved as evidence. 2 27-CR-26-8450 Filed in District Court State of Minnesota 4/6/2026 Police interviewed the auto shop owner, who reported he received a call on March 23, 2026, about a potential customer who wanted to bring in a vehicle for a vinyl wrap but also wanted the vehicle to be stored at the shop for a period of time.
The shop owner was told the vehicle was damaged but the customer was ordering parts to complete repairs at a later date. The shop owner recalled he thought this was strange since typically repairs would be completed prior to applying vinyl wrapping. The shop owner stated the vehicle was dropped off by a woman named “Gabby” sometime between March 24 and March 25, 2026. “Gabby” provided the shop owner with her phone number but never called back to check on the status of the vehicle. The shop owner provided surveillance images that depicted "Gabby" driving the suspect vehicle to the shop and delivering the keys to the shop owner.
Investigators were able to identify “Gabby” as GABRYELLA LIEBGOTT, [DOB REDACTED], the Defendant herein.
