On March 22, 2026, at approximately 3:07 A.M., Minneapolis Emergency Dispatch received a 911 call reporting the hit and run of a pedestrian at [ADDRESS REDACTED] NE, in the City of Minneapolis, Hennepin County. Minneapolis Police and emergency responders arrived at the scene to find a critically injured 22-year-old young woman lying in the street. Numerous friends and bystanders reported that the Victim was struck by a speeding vehicle as she was preparing to cross the street. The Victim [NAME REDACTED] at the scene and transported to the Hennepin County Medical Center where she ultimately died as a result of her injuries.
The scene of the collision revealed that the Victim was struck with such force that remnants of her clothing were torn from her body and were scattered in the street. The entire driver’s side mirror of the striking vehicle was found in the roadway along with debris that appeared to be from the body of the car. Witnesses reported the striking vehicle was a 4-door sedan. Investigators collected surveillance footage from homes and businesses along Marshall Street NE and also obtained video footage from a parked Tesla that captured the collision.
The Tesla video showed the Victim and two other women exit a white vehicle parked on the west side of Marshall Street NE shortly after 3:00 A.M. The driver of the white car crossed the street while the Victim [NAME REDACTED], both wearing white dresses, stood near the fog line of Marshall St NE. The second woman crossed Marshall quickly, but the Victim [NAME REDACTED] from the road as the suspect vehicle entered the frame, veering toward the shoulder where the Victim [NAME REDACTED]. The Victim tried to get out of the path of the oncoming car but didn't have time.
The suspect vehicle struck the Victim and then abruptly maneuvered back into the driving lane of the street. The impact of the collision was violent, causing the Victim’s body to be thrown onto the windshield before appearing to fall beneath the moving car. As the Victim’s body moved through the air, her white dress billowed and portions of it fell into the street. A large plume of smoke could be seen as the striking vehicle accelerated and sped away continuing southbound on Marshall St NE. The Tesla footage did not capture a view of the driver of the vehicle.
Investigators utilized numerous camera systems throughout the cities of Minneapolis and St. Paul to recreate the path of the suspect vehicle the night of the hit and run but were still unable to positively identify the vehicle. The description of the vehicle and accompanying photos were sent out to multiple news stations, and a public media release was issued across the metro area seeking the public’s assistance in identifying the vehicle. On March 30, 2026, investigators received a call from the Washington County Sheriff's Office reporting they believed they located the suspect vehicle at an auto shop that specializes in applying vinyl exterior wraps.
