On June 13, 2026, at approximately 4:19 A.M., Minnesota State Patrol Troopers responded to a report of a multi-vehicle crash on westbound I-494 near Highway 100, in the city of Bloomington, in Hennepin County, in the state of Minnesota. Troopers arrived at said location, where they observed a white Jeep Grand Cherokee with substantial front-end damage on the left shoulder, a black Honda CRV with substantial driver’s side door damage on the right shoulder, and FedEx tractor trailer stopped 100 yards west of the crash location.
Officers observed a deceased male, later identified as VC, hereinafter Victim, laying on the westbound I-494 lanes of traffic. Victim was later identified as the driver of the Jeep Grand Cherokee. Victim [NAME REDACTED] from his vehicle. A Trooper identified the driver of the Honda CRV as SETH RYLEE TIMMERS, [DOB REDACTED], hereinafter Defendant. Defendant was being extracted from his vehicle by the fire department. Defendant appeared confused about where he was. The Trooper believed that Defendant was impaired by alcohol as Defendant had bloodshot, watery eyes, he was lethargic, he had dilated pupils, and there was an overwhelming odor of alcohol coming from him.
Defendant admitted to drinking, and that he was at Sneaky Pete’s in Minneapolis. The Trooper observed clues of impairment with the Horizontal Gaze Nystagmus Test but did not perform additional field sobriety testing due to Defendant’s injuries from the crash. Defendant provided a preliminary breath test which showed his BAC as.141. The Trooper then placed Defendant under arrest. Defendant was then brought to HCMC, where the Trooper obtained a warrant for a blood draw. Defendant provided a blood sample, and the State contends that the blood sample will show his BAC as.08 or above within 2 hours of driving.
The State Patrol completed a crash reconstruction, where it is believed that Defendant, as the driver of the CRV, was attempting a U-Turn on westbound I-494, which would have resulted in his vehicle illegally going the wrong way. As Defendant veered into the lane of traffic, Victim’s vehicle hit Defendant’s vehicle on the driver’s side. The FedEx driver, who was also traveling westbound on I-494, then struck the rear of the Grand Cherokee as it was disabled within the left lane, as the FedEx driver could not stop in time.
The Victim was ejected out his driver’s side door from the impact of the FedEx truck. Defendant is out of custody as Defendant was released directly from the hospital. The State requests a rush warrant as bail and/or conditions of release are necessary to protect public safety and ensure Defendant’s appearance in court.
