On July 24, 2025, police were contacted by BB, a manager at Dick’s Sporting Goods, 1675 Highway 36, Roseville, Ramsey County, Minnesota, about a possible shoplifter in the store. BB observed the male concealing items and believed he was going to leave without paying for them. An officer responded to the area and awaited further information. A short time later, BB contacted the officer and reported that the male was heading toward the door and had not paid for any items. The officer observed the suspect exit the store with a backpack that appeared to be full of items.
BB exited behind the suspect and pointed at the suspect. Police stopped the suspect and identified him as CAPRICE RANDY JERMAIN JOHNSON – [DOB REDACTED]. Police located several brand-new clothing items in the backpack. The total value of the stolen items was $827.43. The merchandise was returned to the store. JOHNSON has a felony conviction for Third Degree Burglary in Hennepin County District Court File No. 27- CR-23-10488 on February 24, 2025.
