On July 2, 2025, at approximately 1511 hours, Richfield Police Officers responded to a burglary report at 6XX1 Lynwood Boulevard, Richfield, Hennepin County. The reporting party, A. N., stated that someone entered his detached garage through a window and stole two Dewalt batteries with an approximate value of $150 each, one Dewalt jigsaw with an approximate value of $100, one Dewalt corded power drill with an approximate value of $100, one Dewalt corded angle grinder with an approximate value of $150, one multimeter with an approximate value of $50, and assorted hand tools with an unknown value.
A. N. Stated that he found wood items stacked behind his garage's rear window that appeared to allow someone access through the window. Behind the garage is a small, wooded area. At approximately 1430 hours, A. N. Was cleaning up discarded items when he saw a male in his neighbor's backyard and then the male entered the wooded area. As the male approached A. N., A. N. Picked up a rock to defend himself if needed. The male saw A. N. And then quickly turned around and then walked away. The male was on private property that was owned by A. N. And A. N's neighbor.
A. N. Described the male who was wearing a high-visibility vest, had blonde or light brown "scraggly" hair and appearance. While Officers were speaking with A. N., A. N's other neighbor from 6XX7 Lynwood Boulevard, C. W., approached. C. W. Stated that she lives across the street from A. N. And stated that she observed a sedan in A. N.'s driveway, a male with blonde hair in a high visibility vest got out, and walked south around to the back of A. N.'s house. C. W. Stated that since he was wearing the high visibility vest, she assumed he was a utility company worker.
The male carried items to his car, placed them inside, and left. What she observed she estimated occurred in about 15 minutes. That same day, at 1740 hours, Officers were dispatched to 6XX5 Lynwood Boulevard for another burglary report. 6XX1 and 6XX5 are neighbors. The reporting party J. J. Stated that they left their residence around 1200 hours, and returned around 1737 hours to find their residence was burglarized. The suspect in both of the burglaries was identified as MICHAEL JAMES NASE, Defendant herein.
The Defendant currently has four open pending felony theft and burglary related cases in Hennepin County and several other cases have been submitted for review to the Hennepin County Attorney's Office. In case file 27-CR-25-22280, Officers executed a search warrant at the Hyatt Place Hotel in Eden Prairie. In that search, Officers located J. J.'s passport and checkbook. Officers also located the Defendant's cell phone. In a cell phone extraction of the Defendant's location, the Defendant's phone showed that it was in the area of 6XX5 and 6XX1 Lynwood Boulevard from 1148 hours to 1413 hours on July 2, 2025. A. N. And C. W.'s description of who they observed in the high visibility vest match the Defendant's likeness.
