On July 21, 2025, deputies with the Olmsted County Sheriff's Office executed a search warrant at a residence in NW Rochester, Olmsted County, MN. The deputies cleared the residence and identified multiple individuals present at the home. In the Northeast bedroom, STEVEN FRED RONNING [DOB REDACTED] was found. In the detached garage, MARK ALLEN HARMAN, JR [DOB REDACTED] was found.
A witness on scene identified the NE bedroom as Ronning's bedroom. This witness also indicated that Harman primarily stays in the detached garage. The entire residence and detached garage was searched. In the NE bedroom, 2.1 grams of presumptively positive methamphetamine was found in a safe. Ronning admitted to law enforcement that he resides in this bedroom. Although he denied possessing or using methamphetamine, he stated that he does "hold onto" methamphetamine for Harman at times. In the detached garage, deputies observed a significant amount of suspected methamphetamine scattered on the ground.
They also observed a monitor and security system that depicted the exterior of the residence and would have shown law enforcement's arrival. Harman admitted to possessing methamphetamine in the detached garage and said that when law enforcement arrived, he threw methamphetamine on the ground. During the search of the garage, 4.3 grams of presumptively positive methamphetamine was found in a toolbox. The methamphetamine on the ground was collected and weighed approximately 25 grams, including some debris that was mixed in from the garage floor.
