On March 26, 2026, Eau Claire Police Officers responded to a runaway juvenile report for a juvenile living in Eau Claire. They were informed that a 15-year-old (Child 1) was missing and had last been seen around 11:00 AM on March 25, 2026. It was reported that she was likely picked up by a 24-year-old male named “Eddy.” Child 1’s parents were able to track her phone to an address located on Skylark Drive NE, in the City of East Bethel, Anoka County. Deputies from the Anoka County Sheriff’s Office responded to the residence on Skylark Drive and were informed Child 1 had just left the residence with a male by the name of Matthew Manuel Tenemaza [DOB REDACTED], Defendant herein, in a 2008 Saturn Vue.
Child 1’s phone location was no longer active, but her parents’ informed officers that her phone log records showed prior to leaving she was frequently communicating with Defendant. Defendant is a registered predatory offender as of May 9, 2025, and listed his primary address as the Skylark Drive address. On March 26, 2026, Child 1 was located at a truck stop outside of Eau Claire, WI. Child 1 said she met a male named “Matt” at the Mall of America. She talked to Defendant on and off until March 25, 2026, when Defendant drove to Eau Claire to pick her up.
Defendant drove her to his house in Minnesota and then to another house where they slept. Child 1 said she took a train back to Eau Claire, but no such train service exists along the route she described. Defendant was detained driving the 2008 Saturn Vue on March 28, 2026. Defendant had marks on his neck consistent with “hickeys.” Inside Defendant’s vehicle, there were several items including Child 1’s debit card, a small women’s belt, condoms, and a used condom under the driver’s seat. There were also receipts in the vehicle from the Eau Claire area dated February 26 and February 27, 2026. Additionally, Defendant was involved in a traffic stop while driving the same vehicle on February 28, 2026. Defendant is required to register as a predatory offender with the BCA, following a conviction for a first- degree criminal sexual conduct in Anoka County on November 30, 2017. Registration requirements include reporting any vehicle that Defendant owns or regularly drives.
Defendant has never reported the 2008 Saturn Vue on his predatory offender registration paperwork.
