On August 7, 2024, Defendant Andres August Morin [DOB REDACTED] was adjudicated delinquent of aggravated robbery, and became ineligible to possess firearms or ammunition for life. On December 23, 2025, Blaine police responded to a shoplifting complaint at the Blaine Fleet Farm, in the city of Blaine, Anoka County, MN, where two men had attempted to steal ammunition. One of the men was Defendant. Surveillance footage showed Defendant unboxing some firearm ammunition and concealing it in his clothing, then attempting to leave the store without making any attempt to pay for the ammunition.
Loss prevention detained the men and located the ammunition box, which had twelve rounds missing. Defendant admitted that the twelve rounds would be found in his pocket. Defendant was taken into custody for being an ineligible person in possession of ammunition. His companion, who had no disqualifications to own ammunition, was issued a citation for theft and released at the scene. During a search of Defendant incident to arrest, the missing ammunition and a white pill identified as Xanax were found in Defendant's clothing.
Defendant had additional personal items, and he asked law enforcement to place them in his vehicle, which was parked outside and registered to him. He provided the key to officers for this reason. Inside the vehicle, officers found a Glock 22 firearm on the vehicle's floor and a large number of open marijuana containers, which were disposed of. The firearm had 20 rounds in the magazine and one in the chamber.
