Complainant, an investigator with the Wayzata Police Department, after reviewing all of the files in this matter, believes the following to be true: On September 20, 2025 at approximately 11:00 pm, Wayzata police officers were called to The Landing at [ADDRESS REDACTED] E., in the City of Wayzata, County of Hennepin, for an intoxicated male who was refusing to leave. Officer C. Martins responded and observed a man outside the side entrance, later identified as James Scott Brokaw [DOB REDACTED], hereinafter the “Defendant.” Another individual, identified as JCC, was also standing in the entrance.
JCC advised Officer Martins that he was a member of a wedding party that was at The Landing and that the Defendant had become intoxicated, was verbally argumentative with some of the guests and had stumbled into and knocked over some sound equipment. Officer Martins also spoke to TJA, another wedding guest, who confirmed what he had been told by JCC. Officer Martins then spoke to the Defendant, who had slurred speech, bloodshot watery eyes and smelled of consumed alcohol. The Defendant told Officer Martins he is a nice guy and not normally like this.
The manager of The Landing filled out a trespass notice and handed it to the Defendant. Eventually, the Defendant left the premises with a sober driver.
