On May 28, 2025, Fridley Police responded to a theft report at the Bona Brothers gas station at [ADDRESS REDACTED] NE, city of Fridley, county of Anoka. The gas station manager, N. K., reported that a female had entered the store and asked for lottery tickets. The clerk placed the lottery tickets in a bag and informed the female, later identified as MUNA ABDULQADIR [DOB REDACTED], "Defendant" herein, that the cost was $1,025. Defendant then reached around the counter, grabbed the bag and fled the store without paying.
Defendant left the gas station in a silver Jeep with MN plate SJN 638, driven by an unknown male. Law enforcement learned the suspect vehicle was registered to Defendant and confirmed her identity via comparing her DVS photo with surveillance footage from the gas station. An alert for the vehicle was placed, and on May 29, 2025, a deputy with the Hennepin County Sheriff's Department attempted to stop the suspect vehicle. The vehicle fled and crashed in St. Louis Park; the driver fled on foot and was not located.
A search warrant for the suspect vehicle was obtained and inside the vehicle officers located a large number of lottery tickets. The lottery tickets were cataloged by the Minnesota State Lottery Office which found just over 600 lottery tickets including those that matched the ones taken from the Bona Brothers gas station.
