On or about November 3, 2025, at approximately 1:32 A.M., officers responded to an apartment located on the 4100 block of 76th St W in Edina, Hennepin County, Minnesota. There, officers encountered Victim, who reported that her boyfriend, Defendant JAMIAN JADARIAN MARTIN ([DOB REDACTED]), had assaulted her while holding her infant son. Officers observed the apartment to be in disarray. Defendant was not on scene, as is typical; Edina Police have responded to numerous domestic assault calls involving Defendant and Victim [NAME REDACTED] is usually gone on arrival.
Officers observed cuts to Victim's lips with blood visible. They also obtained surveillance footage from the apartment hallway. It shows Defendant pressing the elevator button then slamming Victim's head into the wall. Victim [NAME REDACTED] infant son, who also strikes the wall and begins crying. Moments later, Defendant punches Victim in the face with a closed fist, causing her head to hit the wall again while she is holding her baby. Defendant is currently charged with felony domestic assault against Victim in ••-CR-••-••••. For some reason, it does not appear a DANCO was issued in that file.
Your complainant requests one in conjunction with these charges. Defendant has been charged with felony assaults and/or no contact order violations involving Victim no less than four times and was sent to prison for one of these cases in 2023. Victim routinely recants her statements seeking to get charges dismissed. In fact, she recently recanted her statements in 27-CR-25- 21818 to the Hennepin County Attorney's Office and has already attempted to do in the instant case, despite surveillance footage clearly showing a graphic and disturbing assault on Victim [NAME REDACTED]. The totality of these investigations show that Defendant's conduct has caused Victim to feel terrorized and consistently fear bodily harm.
Defendant has the following previous qualified domestic violence related convictions within the past 10 years: ••-CR-••-•••• – Violate No Contact Order, Felony – Convicted 5/2/23; ••-CR-••-•••• – Threats of Violence, Felony – Convicted 11/15/22; ••-CR-••-•••• - Violate No Contact Order, Felony – Convicted 1/25/23; and ••-CR-••-•••• - Violate No Contact Order, Felony – Convicted 10/5/22. Defendant is a menace to Victim and public safety and your complainant therefore requests a warrant and high bail.
