On December 1, 2025, law enforcement executed a search warrant at a residence in NE Rochester, Olmsted County, MN. During the investigation leading up to execution of the warrant, they had determined that the residence was occupied and/or frequented by Mark Anton Staab and KIMBERLY MARIE MCDEID [DOB REDACTED]. In the basement of the home, Detective Bohle located a bag in a suitcase. That bag contained, what appeared to be, several ounces of methamphetamine. Throughout the residence, various items related to the possession and consumption of controlled substances were found, as well as personal items belonging to Staab and McDeid.
The evidence was processed at the law enforcement center. The methamphetamine found in the suitcase in the basement tested presumptively positive and weighed 157.3 grams (one bag containing 120.8 grams and the other bag containing 36.5 grams). The larger bag of methamphetamine was swabbed for DNA comparison. Known DNA samples were obtained from Staab and McDeid. The Minnesota Bureau of Criminal Apprehension compared these samples to the swab from the larger bag of methamphetamine taken during the search warrant.
That comparison revealed that Staab was not a contributor the the mixture of DNA profiles on the bag. The comparison strongly supported the inclusion of McDeid in the mixture of DNA profiles on the bag (greater than 100 billion times more likely than if she was not a contributor to the mixture). The volume of methamphetamine alone is far in excess of what a typical user of methamphetamine would possess for personal consumption. Officers also located unused bags and a digital scale in close proximity to the large quantity of methamphetamine.
Possession of over 100 grams of methamphetamine is indicative that McDeid possessed the methamphetamine with the intent to weigh and package it in smaller quantities, then sell it to other individuals. On April 8, 2026, McDeid was located by officers and taken into custody without incident. 3 55-CR-26-2540 Filed in District Court State of Minnesota 4/10/2026 PLEASE TAKE NOTICE: YOU MUST APPEAR FOR EVERY COURT HEARING REGARDING THIS CASE.
