On 12/13/25 at 1153 hours, Roseville Police were dispatched to the Barnes and Noble store at [address omitted] N in Roseville, Ramsey County on a report of a theft. Asset Protection personnel reported that two females left the store with several bags of stolen merchandise and drove off in a black Kia (MN/04391124). Store CCTV footage confirmed the events. The value of the sixteen items of stolen merchandise was $583.89. A Roseville Investigator reviewing the footage noted that the two suspects arrived together and worked in concert as they used red plastic shopping bags that they had hidden under their clothing to conceal the merchandise.
The two then exited the store together without paying for the merchandise. Asset protection personnel recognized one of the suspects from prior theft incidents as Shakeena Takeema Tracy M FLAX (12/20/1987). The Roseville Investigator also positively one of the suspects as FLAX based upon previous theft incidents and a comparison of photos in MRAP and other sources. The Investigator also immediately recognized the second suspect as Marquita Yvonne MAXWELL (08/07/1990) from multiple prior law enforcement contacts and a comparison of photos in MRAP and other sources.
Both FLAX and MAXWELL have extensive criminal histories and qualifying convictions that enhance this gross misdemeanor offense to a felony offense.
