On March 29, 2026, at approximately 8:26 P.M., police responded to an overdose at an apartment located at [ADDRESS REDACTED] West, St. Paul, Ramsey County, Minnesota. Medics told police that the male resident/patient was in the ambulance with the female resident. Medics said the female resident told them that the male was not normally a user of narcotics but rather a seller of narcotics. The male resident/patient was identified as MARCOS ANTONIO LEE – [DOB REDACTED]. Inside the apartment on the kitchen counter, police observed a large clear plastic bag with a green resealable top that contained what appeared to be four large pieces of suspected narcotics broken down from a larger brick.
Smaller pieces and powder were at the bottom of the bag. Police also observed a $5 bill and line of white powder on the stovetop, which was next to the counter where the bag of suspected narcotics was located. In addition, police observed two electronic scales on the kitchen counter. In the bedroom, police observed a wad of cash, later determined to be sixty $5 bills totaling $300, in a cubicle in the headrest of the bed. Police obtained a search warrant for the apartment. In addition to the items above, police recovered the following: A black backpack on the kitchen floor that contained $21,206 in cash and four bricks of suspected narcotics One clear, tied plastic bag containing suspected narcotics from the kitchen counter One clear resealable plastic bag with a blue top containing suspected narcotics from inside the pantry/cupboard on top of the refrigerator An officer went to Regions Hospital to speak with the female resident, KJL, who said she and LEE have been in a relationship for approximately two years and moved into the apartment in October 2025. KJL told the officer that she believed LEE overdosed from fentanyl after they had an argument.
KJL denied that the suspected narcotics found in the apartment belonged to her or LEE and said they belonged to an unknown male. Presumptive testing was conducted on the suspected controlled substances with the following results: Item #5 labeled “clear plastic tied” yielded a positive result for fentanyl and cocaine with a net weight of 160.3 grams. Item #12 labeled “clear plastic bag with green seal” yielded a positive result for fentanyl and cocaine with a net weight of 247.8 grams. Item #22 labeled “brick of suspected fentanyl” yielded a positive result for fentanyl and cocaine with a weight including original packaging of 1093.1 grams.
Item #23 labeled “brick of suspected fentanyl” yielded a positive result for fentanyl and cocaine with a weight including original packaging of 981.8 grams. Item #24 labeled “brick of suspected fentanyl” was not tested and had a weight including original packaging of 1134.1 grams. Item #25 labeled “brick of suspected fentanyl” was not tested and had a weight including original packaging of 1130.3 grams. Item #26 labeled “clear plastic bag with blue seal” yielded a positive result for fentanyl and cocaine with a net weight of 256.7 grams.
