On November 24, 2025, Minnetonka Police Department officers responded to a reported theft of a wallet near [ADDRESS REDACTED] in Minnetonka, Hennepin County, Minnesota. The reporting party noted that his wallet was removed from his vehicle without his permission. The reporting party became suspicious when he received notifications from his financial institutions that his financial transaction cards were being used to make purchases without his authorization. Officers observed surveillance footage from a Walgreens store in Eden Prairie, Hennepin County, Minnesota, where three purchases were attempted or completed without the permission of the reporting party.
The individual using the reporting party's financial transaction cards was identified as DEANDRE SHAWN PERNELL, [DOB REDACTED], hereinafter Defendant. Officers received transaction information from said store, confirming that Defendant made two purchases, totaling $934.43 and one attempted purchase of $520.43. The total amount purchased or attempted transactions using the reporting party's financial transaction cards, without his permission is $1,454.86. After confirming said purchases, officers obtained surveillance footage wherein Defendant is again observed using a gift card purchased with the reporting party's financial transaction cards.
Defendant is not currently in custody. The State respectfully requests this complaint issue via summons.
