That on or about April 11, 2026, at 11:56 P.M., Officers with the St. Louis Park Police Department were dispatched to Punch Bowl Social, located at [address omitted]., in the City of St. Louis Park, County of Hennepin, State of Minnesota, on a report of assault. Upon arrival, Officers contacted a witness, identified as M. H. Officers learned from M. H. That an unidentified male produced a black handgun while two groups of women were physically fighting each other. When the unidentified male produced a black handgun, the fighting parties dispersed.
The unidentified male was described as a black male, between 27 to 32 years old, wearing all black, a black puffer jacket, and a black beanie/durag. The unidentified male was last seen headed eastbound on Gamble Drive. Four individuals were running from the scene upon Officer LeFevere’s arrival. Officers spoke with some of the involved females on scene. One female advised that her cell phone was missing. An app was used to show the location of the missing cell phone. The cell phone was showing its location near Yard House, which is also located above an underground parking garage.
Officers went into the underground parking garage and located a 2014 Black Ford Focus with MN Plate NKP-976 (“suspect vehicle” herein). The suspect vehicle was right next to where the missing cell phone’s location was on the app. There were four individuals inside the suspect vehicle. The individual in the driver’s seat of the suspect vehicle matched the description of the unidentified male suspect that produced a black handgun. Officers contacted the driver, who was positively identified via their MN driver’s license as DUANE LEE JOHNSON, JR. (“Defendant” herein). Defendant stated he was coming from Punch Bowl Social.
Defendant was wearing a shoulder bag, which are often used to conceal firearms. Due to Defendant matching the description of the unidentified male suspect, Officers detained Defendant. The Defendant informed Officers he had a firearm in his shoulder bag. Inside Defendant’s shoulder bag, Officers located a Glock 17 (serial # BTMP486) and a 40-round magazine. Officers ran a routine check on Defendant and discovered he did not have a valid permit to carry a pistol in public. At present, Defendant is in custody.
