On April 28, 2026, at approximately 8:30 P.M., Minneapolis Police Officers were dispatched to a residence on [ADDRESS REDACTED], Minneapolis, Hennepin County, for report of a burglary. Shortly thereafter, officers arrived on scene and observed PIERRE ANDRE JONES, [DOB REDACTED], hereinafter "Defendant," standing outside the home. The reporting party was also present and pointed to the Defendant and said he was the person inside the house. Officer spoke with the reporting party, who indicated she was clearing the house for the owner, hereinafter "Victim," who was out of town in Hawaii.
She told officers that she came over to clean and saw the lights were on inside and no one was supposed to be inside the house. Officers video chatted with the Victim [NAME REDACTED] indicated that no one had permission to be inside his house. The reporting party mentioned that the lockbox for the keys to the house was broken. Defendant told officers that he had keys to the house and he had permission from his boss, "David," to be there and clean the house. The reporting party told officers that the keys in Defendant's possession were the keys that were missing from the broken lockbox of the house.
Defendant was placed under arrest and a bag on his person was searched incident to arrest. Multiple belt buckles were located inside the bag. The victim confirmed that the belt buckles were antique and taken from his house. The Defendant was taken to the Hennepin County Jail he agreed to provide a statement after he was read his Miranda warning. He said his "boss" gave him the key to the door to the house and claimed he was there to do some cleaning in and around the property. He declined to identify his boss and denied stealing anything from inside the house although he admitted to being inside it.
He admitted to putting on a tennis shoe that he found inside the home that he was later arrested outside wearing. He said the belt buckles were in a bag but again denied stealing anything from inside the home.
