On November 13, 2025, at approximately 2:14 AM, Officer Satele of the Blaine Police Department was on routine patrol when he observed a vehicle that was initially in the outside of two turn lanes cross over into he inner turn lane in the middle of the intersection of 109thand Central Avenue in the city of Blaine, County of Anoka, State of Minnesota. The vehicle then weaved back out of the outer lane once completing the turn. The officer initiated a traffic stop of the vehicle and later fully identified the driver to be ANTHONY CHRISTOPHER MCGEE [DOB REDACTED], "Defendant" herein.
The officer could immediately smell a strong odor of consumed alcoholic beverage coming from within the vehicle. The officer explained the basis for the stop and asked Defendant for his license and proof of insurance. Defendant admitted that his insurance had lapsed approximately 30 days prior. Defendant admitted to having ran through the red light at the intersection. As Defendant spoke, the officer noted that he had slurred speech and observed his eyes appeared bloodshot and glossy. Defendant admitted that he was coming form the bar and stated he had consumed two beers prior to driving.
The officer administered standardized field sobriety tests, during which Defendant performed poorly and multiple clues of impairment were observed. Defendant provided a sample for a preliminary breath test, the result of which indicated he had a 0.124 BAC. Defendant was placed under arrest and pat searched. During the search the officer located a dollar bill folded into a bindle in Defendant's pants pocket that had a powder residence on it, consistent in appearance with cocaine. Defendant was transported to the Blaine Police Department.
Defendant was read the Minnesota Implied Consent Advisory and subsequently agreed to submit to an evidentiary breath test. Defendant was administered a Data Master Transportable (DMT) breath test at approximately 3:14 AM, the final reading of which indicated he had a 0.13 BAC. A review of Defendant's records shows one prior qualifying impaired driving related incident from 2023.
