On June 27, 2025 Officer Kenison received a past action theft report from Menard's Loss Prevention that occurred on June 2, 2025 at Menards South in the City of Rochester, Minnesota. On June 2, 2025 KATHY SUE PARSONS, [DOB REDACTED] came into the Menards South store and purchased a refrigerator using check # 11312 from her Mayo Employee's Federal Credit Union account. The transaction was completed and Parsons left with the refrigerator. Menards personnel attempted to contact Parsons several times, and on one occasion Parsons reportedly answered the phone but then hung up when she was advised of the purpose of the call. The loss to the store is in the amount of $1,307.07. Officer Kenison also attempted to contact Parsons by phone but was unsuccessful. Detective Callahan conducted follow-up investigation, and contacted Menards South to received a copy of the demand for payment letter they sent to Parsons at her listed address in LeRoy, Minnesota on June 19, 2025 via certified mail, return receipt requested.
The letter had been returned to Menards on July 14, 2025 marked "Return to sender, unclaimed, unable to forward." Detective Callahan contacted Mayo Employees Federal Credit Union and learned that on the date that Parsons wrote the check for $1307.07 the account did not have sufficient funds to cover the check and it was rejected for non-sufficient funds. Menards South also provided video surveillance showing Parsons writing and passing the check at Menards. PLEASE TAKE NOTICE: YOU MUST APPEAR FOR EVERY COURT HEARING REGARDING THIS CASE.
